Shipping Container Delivery: How It Works and How It Is Priced

Delivered to Your Site

Yes, we deliver, and delivery is included within 75 miles of the nearest yard. A tilt-bed truck brings the container to your site and sets it on the ground, so you need no forklift, and we quote the container and the delivery together as one number.

How tilt-bed delivery works

The container rides on a tilt-bed truck. At your site the driver lines up with the spot, tilts the bed and sets the container down on the ground. You do not need a forklift or crane on your end.

The driver sets it where you ask when the site allows. Before the truck comes, decide exactly where it goes and which way you want the doors to face, and tell us when you book.

What your site needs

  • A straight shot in. The truck needs a clear, straight path to the spot, without tight turns at the end.
  • Firm, fairly level ground. A loaded truck can sink in soft or muddy ground. If your spot is wet, tell us before delivery day.
  • Room for the truck. The truck and the tilted bed need more length and more overhead room than the container itself, and a 40 ft needs much more room than a 20 ft. Tell us the size of the spot and we will tell you if it works.
  • Photos if access is tight. Narrow gates, fences, slopes or a crowded yard are easier to plan from photos, so text them to us first.

Before delivery day

  • Clear the spot and the path to it. Move vehicles, equipment, trailers and anything stacked where the truck needs to drive or turn.
  • Think about the base. Blocks under the corners or a gravel pad help keep the container level and the floor off wet ground. If you want either, have it ready before the truck comes and mention it when you book.
  • Look up. Power lines, phone lines and low tree branches over the drive or the spot can get in the way of the raised bed. Trim branches ahead of time.
  • Have someone on site. It helps when someone can show the driver the spot.

What shipping container delivery cost depends on

Delivery is included within 75 miles of the closest of our four yards. Farther out, the delivery part of your quote depends on the distance.

Your site matters too. An open site with a straight shot in is a simple drop. Tight or tricky access needs photos and a plan before the truck comes.

We quote the container and the delivery together, so you get the shipping container cost delivered to your site as one number, not a box price with the trucking added later. For what the container itself costs, see our shipping container cost page, and for the containers we stock, our buy page.

How soon can it come?

Often within a few days of ordering, once the delivery is scheduled. Our hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM Central, with weekends by appointment, so a Saturday delivery is not always available. If you need a certain day, ask when you book.

Where we deliver

We deliver across Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi and Illinois from four yards:

Container sales normally go within about 150 miles of a yard, and we check any ZIP. Our service area page lists the towns around each yard.

Moving a rent-to-own container later

On rent to own, the container is delivered and working on your site from day one. If you need to move it before the term is complete, you can, with our approval, and you pay the transport. Deliveries far from our yards may need a larger down payment; we check that from your ZIP.

Common Questions

Do I need a forklift to unload a shipping container?
No. The tilt-bed truck sets the container on the ground by itself. You only need a clear path and firm ground where it is going.

How much does shipping container delivery cost?
Delivery is included within 75 miles of our nearest yard. Farther out it depends on the distance, so send us your ZIP code and we will quote the container and delivery as one number.

Can you put the container exactly where I want it?
Where the site allows, yes. The truck needs a straight shot in and firm, fairly level ground; if the spot is tight, send us photos first.

Do you deliver to my town?
If you are in Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi or Illinois and within about 150 miles of one of our yards, most likely yes. Farther out, send us your ZIP and we will check.
